After two years of being heavily affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, in 2022, teachers and students of Indsutrial University of Ho Chi Minh City have constantly made efforts to bring the school back to the normal pace of life, achieving new successes. Let's look back at 10 typical events and achievements in 2022.
1. Enrollment quality enhancement
Over the past year, IUH has maintained an enrollment rate of 100% of its target. The school's passing score has increased in all forms of admission, among the TOP schools with high scores in the Southern region.

Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City applies four admission methods for regular university: direct admission and priority direct admission; admission using high school GPA (reviewing transcripts); Admission using high school graduation exam results; admission using the results of the Competency Assessment exam. IUH is also among the TOP universities with the highest number of applications in the country.
2. Training quality enhancement
By the end of 2022, the proportion of lecturers and officials titled professors, associate professors, and doctors at the IUH is 30.60%, an increase of 4.53% over the same period in 2021. The school creates all conditions for young lecturers to improve their professional competence and educational level. Many lecturers have been facilitated in terms of funding and time to study and research under domestic and overseas doctoral training programs.

Along with that, a series of new equipment and facilities put into operation by the University have really created a modern and spacious learning environment, serving the teaching and learning needs of lecturers and students.
3. Enhancement of quality assurance and institutional evaluation and
2022 is a successful year for IUH with the accreditation and evaluation of educational institutions. IUH maintains high rankings in the QS, Scimago, URAP Rankings, along with a series of training programs that meet national and international accreditation standards. In 2022, the school has 04 more AUN-QA accredited training programs, 08 programs accredited by Circular 04 of the Ministry of Education and Training, especially 06 training programs acquired ABET accreditation standards.

Also in 2022, the University Performance Metrics (UPM) published the results of benchmarking for universities. IUH has achieved 5-star standards in application orientation.
4. Opening ceremony of the school year 2022 – 2023
After a 2-year hiatus due to COVID-19, the Opening Ceremony and Freshman Welcome Day have returned with a whole new look. The program is also pleased to welcome Mr. Nguyễn Hồng Diên - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Party Staff Committee, Minister of Industry and Trade, with the participation of all teachers and more than 10,000 students.

5. The second International Scientific Conference, ICATSD 2022
Following the success of the 1st International Scientific Conference in 2016, IUH organized the 2nd International Science Conference in 2022 with the theme "Advanced Technology and Sustainable Development".

International Conference on Advanced Technology and Sustainable Development - The 2nd time in 2022, with the desire to create an opportunity, a forum for scientists, managers, and teachers to meet, exchange and share new achievements in science and technology in many fields from economics, administration, technology engineering, to social science and humanities. The conference attracted more than 800 scientists from more than 20 countries and territories around the world.
6. The XI Congress of Delegates of IUH, term 2022-2024
The XI Congress of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, term 2022 - 2024, Congress of digital transformation in the use of mobile apps. At the Congress, delegates were registered, managed, provided documents, and conducted electronic voting. Comrade Huỳnh Phú Vinh was re-elected as Secretary of the Delegation of IUH for the term 2022 – 2024.

The Congress was honored to receive the Bronze Medal for Youth of IUH with the words "Aspiration - Pioneering - Innovation - Development" awarded by the Party Committee - Rector Board. Also at the General Meeting, Ms. Nguyễn Phương Thảo - Member of the Standing Committee, Chairperson of the Inspection Committee of the Delegation of the Central Secretariat of the Delegation awarded the Medal for the young generation to Comrade Nguyễn Thị Thương - Director of the Information and Communication Center, and awarded 06 Certificates of Merit to units and individuals who have achieved outstanding achievements in union work, and the youth movement in the period of 2017 - 2022.
7. Job Recruitment Day
IUH Job Fair 2022 remains a successful activity with more than 70 businesses and 8,000 students. The percentage of graduates with jobs is maintained > 95%. The Job Fair is a place where businesses can access labor resources to recruit the best employees. For many years, the Job Recruitment Day held at IUH has always been a prestigious and reliable address for both employers and employees.

8. Promoting research, technology transfer - commercialization of products
Last year, IUH maintained the number of international publications, especially the proportion of Q1 and Q2 articles is more than 40%. In 2022, the school will manage 10 out-of-school research projects, including 04 Nafosted projects, 01 project of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, 04 provincial/city projects. Among which, six projects were accepted including 02 projects of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, 02 provincial/city projects, and 02 Nafosted projects; Two projectcs of the Ministry of Industry and Trade were recently implemented.
IUH also established the first spin-off company as a result of the startup project D-Health – First Prize of INNOGREENLIFE 2021. This is the 2nd spin off enterprise in the university system in Vietnam. At the same time, the school has implemented a product development cooperation contract with Thuận Hưng and Tasuya companies to launch the product "Ca Ty brand fish sauce" with the logo representing 3 parties. The product has been announced and reached the market and consumers since May 2022.

9. IUH maintains volunteer activities and community engagement
Community engagement has become a cultural feature, demonstrating the deep humanity of the school team. Volunteering based on professional expertise, volunteering according to functional units is promoted, especially projects that contribute to environmental protection and promote sustainable economic development.
Every year, the school regularly organizes career guidance, admission counseling for students and parents in Ho Chi Minh City and surrounding areas. The Youth Union cooperates with the Students' Union to organize meaningful volunteer activities such as: Green Summer, blood donation, exam season support, charity work, social work, international student exchange activities, business cooperation program to connect, train, and find jobs for students.
10. Open Pharmacology Discipline
Currently, ensuring safety and effectiveness in using pharmaceuticals gets entensive attention. The pharmaceutical industry, especially pharmacists with university degrees, plays an important role in the care and protection of community health. However, human resources in the industry currently do not meet the demand. In addition, they mainly stay in big cities and work in the distribution sector. Facing that fact, IUH has boldly implemented the project of opening a new undergraduate training major, Pharmacy.
