On the afternoon of December 20, the Union of Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH) convened a ceremony to assess union activities for the academic year 2022-2023 and outline the objectives for the upcoming academic year, 2023-2024. Additionally, the event marked the conclusion of the Teaching Contests, Sports Competitions, and Singing & Dancing Contest for officials and employees in 2023.

The ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of superior delegates, school leaders, and distinguished guests. Representing the Vietnam Trade and Industry Union were Mr. Vu Truong Son, Vice Chairman; Ms. Le Thi Tam, Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Legal Policy & Industrial Relations Committee; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai, Member of the Executive Committee and Deputy Chief of Office. From the Party Committee and Rector Board, the attendees included Mr. Phan Hong Hai, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the School Council; Ms. Dam Sao Mai, Party Member and Vice Rector; Mr. Pham Trung Kien, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Head of the Administrative Organization Department; Mr. Hoang Do, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Head of Political Work and Student Support; and Mr. Le Van Tan, Former Vice Rector and Editor-in-Chief of IUH Journal of Science and Technology. Trade Union Officials from various periods included Mr. Tran Van Thang, Former Vice Rector and Former Chairman of the Trade Union for the term 2012-2017; and Mr. Pham Thanh Tung, Head of Dormitory Management Department and Former Chairman of the Trade Union for the term 2017–2023. Representing the Union were Mr. Le Ngoc Son, Chairman, and Ms. Vo Thi Thu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman. The conference also extended a warm welcome to teachers, Members of the Union Board, the Head of the Union, and delegates representing all officials and employees of the University.
During the conference's opening remarks, Mr. Le Ngoc Son provided insights into the strengths and challenges encountered in union activities throughout the school year 2022-2023. Notably, 2023 marks the year of the XIII Vietnam Union Congress (term 2023-2028), the IV Congress of Trade and Industry Unions (term 2023-2028), and the 16th Congress of Unions of Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (term 2023-2028). In the previous year, with the focused attention, guidance, and support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Party Committee of central agencies in Ho Chi Minh City, and the Vietnam Trade and Industry Union, the entire school's officials and employees demonstrated unwavering dedication. They consistently exerted efforts to drive innovation, gradually overcame challenges, and proudly achieved significant successes.

Through the collective efforts of all union members, the Union of Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City proudly achieved recognition in the academic year 2022-2023. The union is honored to be awarded the Leading Excellent Unit Emulation Flag and the Certificate of Merit for being a Strong Grassroots Trade Union in the same academic year by the Vietnam Trade and Industry Union.
In particular, two individuals were distinguished with the Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and an additional 30 officials and employees, recognized for their exemplary accomplishments, received the Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam Trade and Industry Union.

In addition to the Recognition Categories of the Vietnam Trade and Industry Union, the Rector Board also presented certificates of merit to 25 union collectives and 232 union members with excellent achievements in the good labor movement and building a strong union organization in the school year 2023-2024.

Mr. Hoang Do - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Ms. Vo Thi Thu Thuy - Vice President of the Union of the school presented certificates of merit to the strong Union Collective.
During the ceremony, the Organizing Committee of the Sports Committee for Officials and Employees unveiled the outcomes and presented awards to three collectives and 49 individuals who demonstrated outstanding achievements in the Sports Movement of Staff and Employees in 2023. Simultaneously, the Organizing Committee of the Teaching Contest for the academic year 2022-2023 recognized and rewarded 42 exemplary lecturers at the school level, comprising 5 First Prizes, 7 Second Prizes, 5 Third Prizes, and 1 English-lecture prize, along with 25 Excellent lecturers.
Furthermore, the Organizing Committee of the Employees' Singing and Dancing Contest revealed the results and granted awards to 25 collectives and 6 individuals who excelled in the competition.
