In order to continue promoting and implementing the principles, purposes, tasks and development of forces contributing to the field of environmental hygiene, the Vietnam Association of Clean Water and Environment has launched its Southern representative office at Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City.
Attendees of the launch ceremony were Mr. Nguyễn Linh Ngọc - Chairman of The Vietnam Association of Clean Water and Environment, former Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment; Ms. Đàm Sao Mai – Vice Rector of Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City and more than 40 guest delegates being representatives of businesses and scientists.
Overview of the ceremony
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyễn Linh Ngọc - Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Clean Water and Environment confidently assigned the task to the Representative Office of the Association in Ho Chi Minh City to organize the connection of units and individuals to solve the urgent requirements of environmental protection actions, the urgent need for clean water and responding to the impact of the climate crisis in the Southern region, especially Ho Chi Minh City.
Earlier on May 12, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Association of Clean Water and Environment awarded the Decision on the appointment of Professors. Dr. Lê Hùng Anh - Director of The Institute of Environmental Science, Engineering and Management as Vice Chairman of the Association, Head of the Representative Office of the Association in Ho Chi Minh City. Mr. Lê Hùng Anh said: "This is both an honor of myself and a heavy responsibility to take on this task. For many years, IUH in general and the Institute of Environmental Science, Engineering and Management regularly carried out projects serving the community, especially clean water and environmental projects. In the coming time, the Association of Clean Water and Environment will coordinate with the IUH and businesses to implement the project "Planting 10 million trees" in response to the Prime Minister's call to plant 1 billion trees in the period of 2021 - 2025".
At the launch, the delegates of the guests attended to visit the Office of the Association located on the 09th floor, House X, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City and the exhibition area of environmentally friendly products. The event of opening a new office of the Vietnam Association of Clean Water and Environment shows the position and important role of the Association in implementing the issues of bringing clean water to the poor; turning waste into resources; together with the community to respond to climate change, at the same time affirming that the Association is well received by the Party, State and people in the journey of creating "For a green Vietnam".
The Vietnam Association of Clean Water and Environment is a professional, voluntary social organization of those interested in clean water and environment work. The Association was established in June 2002, until now it is 20 years old, and now being a member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations.
