On June 18 and 19, 2022, the Military Command of Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City organized the deployment of self-defense force training phase 1 in 2022.
Attending the Phase 1 Self-Defense Force Training in 2022, on the side of the Military Command of Go Vap District, Lieutenant Colonel Trần Hữu Thanh attended and assisted the unit in disseminating some basic contents of the law on Self-Defense Militia. Representatives of IUH were Comrade Nguyễn Xuân Hồng - Vice Rector - Commander of the IUH Military Command, Comrade Nguyễn Trung Dũng - Politician, Head of the Faculty of Political Theories, Comrade Phạm Ngọc Anh - Deputy Commander, Deputy Director of the Center for National Defence Education and Physical Education, Comrade Phạm Thanh Tùng - Deputy Politician, President of the Union of the IUH Military Command and 92 officers and soldiers of the IUH Self-Defense Unit.

Speaking at the implementation of the plan, Comrade Nguyễn Xuân Hồng emphasized: Despite heavy specific workload, soldiers need to actively arrange reasonable time, seriously and clearly report working schedule in order to simultaneously complete the tasks. The training staff promotes the sense of responsibility, firmly grasps the content, and applies it appropriately to introduce closely to the subject and the actual task situation of the unit. Officers participating in the training focus on thoroughly observing the set purposes, requirements and contents; be active in learning, training, fully absorbing the contents, strictly observing the prescribed regimes, to complete the content and programs and achieve the best results.

During the training period, soldiers will be able to participate in learning and training such contents as: Disseminating combat readiness training plans to protect the organization, Team Formation, AK submachine gun examination technique, AK submachine gun shooting practice, summarizing and checking the trained contents, ...
The training aimed at fostering self-defense soldiers the views and guidelines of the Party, policies and laws of the State, defense and military tasks; consolidating and equiping more knowledge, improving the capacity and qualifications of organizing the practice of training in political and military education, serving as a basis for improving the quality and efficiency in training, combat readiness of self-defense forces, meeting the requirements of defense tasks, military in the new situation.
