On March 29, 2022, the Network of Southeast Asian Universities (AUN) sent a congratulations letter to the University. Accordingly, Industrial University of Hồ Chí Minh City (IUH) has 04 more programs meeting AUN-QA standards, bringing the total number of training programs being evaluated to meet the AUN-QA standards to 12 programs.
The programs recognized by AUN-QA this time are the Garment Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, E-Commerce and Thermal Engineering Technology. These are the training programs evaluated in the 240th session, which took place from October 18 to 22, 2021. Although the evaluation took place in a special context when Hồ Chí Minh City was in COVID-19 epidemic social distancce, thanks to the careful preparation, along with the efforts and determination of the school team, 04 programs were highly appreciated. This is really a meaningful gift to recognize the achievements of the school in recent times. Previously, in June 2018, the first 04 training programs of IUH was evaluated by AUN-QA. In August 2019, the next four programs were evaluated by AUN-QA in the 154th assessment. Thus, IUH currently has 12 training programs meeting AUN-QA standards; being the first unit in the universities under the Ministry of Industry and Trade to have many training programs meeting the accreditation standards in Southeast Asia. This result demonstrates the drastic direction of the Board of Rectors, the consensus of the school's staff and officials, helping to affirm IUH's brand in the country and southeast Asia.
In the past 2 years, the University continues to be ranked 601+ in the top universities in Asia; top 10 Vietnamese universities in the QS Asia rankings; 5th place in Vietnam's ranking of Webometrics. In the period of 2018 - 2023, the University determined to complete the accreditation of 11 undergraduate training programs under the ABET Standard (USA) and 23 programs under AUN-QA standards. In September 2021, the world's leading evaluation and ranking organization QS-Quacquarelli Symonds announced the Industrial University of Hồ Chí Minh City met 4-star in QS Stars quality standard. In January 2022, the Center for Education Quality Accreditation - Hanoi National University completed the official survey and reported the preliminary results of the quality assessment for 05 Master training programs at in the fields of Accounting, Analytical Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Food technology and 03 bachelor training programs in the fields of Economic Law, Construction Engineering, Environmental Resource Management according to circular No. 04/2016/TT-BGDDT of the Ministry of Education and Training.
In order to achieve the aforementioned outstanding achievements, Dr. Phan Hồng Hải, the Rector, said: "Over the years, the school has always focused on assessment, quality accreditation and education rating. Thanks to the commitment to participate in international and domestic accreditation, teaching and learning activities are increasingly standardized, lecturers are trained to design content according to learning outcomes, evaluate students in a variety of forms, use varied teaching methods. Paralelly, quality improvement is conducted via learners’ satisfaction survey, and the students’ score spectrum. This is a prerequisite to help the school control and improve the training quality"
