Domestic and international experts converged at Hanoi University of Industry (HaUI) to exchange, share, and discuss the latest issues in energy, electronics, and automation. The research presented has contributed to the development of science and technology and provides a solid foundation and important recommendations for improving the quality of research and training in educational institutions in the coming period.
On June 21, the first National Scientific Conference on Energy, Electronics, and Automation (EEA 2024), hosted by Hanoi University of Industry, attracted over 400 delegates from 30 organizations, including the Department of Atomic Energy under the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Electricity System Dispatching Center, research institutes, schools, academies, and enterprises.

Energy, electronics, and automation are often regarded as the lifeblood, nervous system, and backbone of modern industry. The stability and resilience of these sectors serve as significant drivers for industrial and national development. The Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0) is fundamentally transforming industries by integrating advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and big data. In this context, the role of energy, electronics, and automation has become increasingly crucial, providing the foundational support for the development and application of these new technologies.
Based on these principles, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Dong, Vice Rector of Hanoi University of Industry, believes that strengthening cooperation, academic exchanges, and exploring new research directions and technological trends—especially interdisciplinary and multi-field approaches—is an inevitable trend for scientists studying Energy, Electronics, and Automation. Scientists will share achievements, new discoveries, and breakthrough ideas, thereby making significant strides toward promoting sustainable development and catalyzing the creation of national and international products and services.

Speaking on behalf of the organizers of the second event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dam Sao Mai, Vice Rector of the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized: "In addition to addressing scientific issues, fostering connections among students and faculty across educational institutions at this academic exchange forum holds great significance." He also expressed the desire for technical training units to further enhance multidimensional, diverse, and interdisciplinary collaborations, establish and develop joint research groups, promote scientific publications from inter-university research efforts, and increase shared use of facilities. These efforts aim to integrate scientific research with education and community service effectively.

The conference exemplifies the collaboration in training and scientific activities among 6 institutions under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, including Hanoi University of Industry, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City, University of Electricity, University of Industrial Economics and Technology, Viet Tri University of Industry, and Hue Industrial College.

At the conference, speakers and scientists engaged in lively discussions on renewable energy sources, focusing on new, green, and sustainable energy. Moving beyond classic clean energy sources such as solar, wind, and geothermal energy, scientists explored advancements in ocean wave energy, offshore wind energy, ocean thermal energy, and bioenergy.

Mr. Nguyen Ba Hoai – Deputy Head of Renewable Energy Department, National Power System Dispatching Center introduced to the Conference an overview of renewable energy sources, factors affecting the operation of the power system and the electricity market. At the same time, propose implementation solutions to ensure the efficient operation of these energy sources
The trends in the development of new energy sources and renewable energy will be a breakthrough solution, making an important contribution to economic development, as well as contributing to the implementation of Vietnam's international commitment to bring carbon emissions to "zero" (Net – Zero) by 2050.
In addition, the field of biomedical electronic engineering technology – one of the pioneering fields in the era of Digital Technology also attracts the attention of researchers and students.
Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Tan – Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics, Phenikaa University presented the topic "Intelligent sensing and some signal processing techniques in biomedical engineering"
Prof. Tran Duc Tan, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics at Phenikaa University, has deeply analyzed the field of biomedical engineering, with a particular focus on the integration of intelligent sensing technology and advanced signal processing techniques.
Assoc. Prof. Pham Van Dong, Vice Rector of Hanoi University of Industry, presented souvenirs to the speakers at the EEA Conference 2024. The conference received more than 200 scientific reports, with 88 reports presented by authors from eight countries (Russia, France, China, Japan, Laos, Mozambique, Poland, Pakistan, and Vietnam). These presentations included breakthrough solutions and ideas in fields such as energy and sustainable development, smart grids, energy storage and transformation technologies, smart manufacturing techniques, application of power electronics in energy systems, thermal and air conditioning engineering technology, mechanical-electronic technology, motion control and industrial robots, wireless power transmission, electronics and telecommunications, biomedical electronics, data collection and transmission systems, information technology and artificial intelligence, and technical advances in industry.
In eight professional departments and one poster department, there were a total of 80 direct reports. These reports received valuable contributions and lively discussions from researchers and scientists. Additionally, 45 poster reports were presented at the conference, most of which featured high scientific content and concise, clear, and visually appealing presentations.
In the spirit of seriousness, responsibility, and fairness, the Organizing Committee discussed, agreed upon, and decided to award prizes in the following categories: eight reports with excellent content, eight excellent presentation reports, and three best posters.
