Opening of the official survey to assess the quality of IUH's Master and Undergraduate training programs

On the morning of January 9, 2022, the delegation of external assessors of the Center for Education Accreditation - Hanoi National University (VNU) in collaboration with Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City  organized the opening of the official survey for external asssessment according to Circular No. 04/2016/TT-BGDDT of the Ministry of Education and Training. 5 master training programs assessed are in the fields:  Accounting, Analytical Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Food Technology and 3 undergraduate programs, including: Economic Law, Construction Engineering, Environmental Resource Management.

Attendees at the ceremony, from the Center for Education Accreditation - Hanoi National University, were Dr. Tạ Thị Thu Hiền – Deputy Director in charge of the Center for Education Accreditation - Hanoi National University and the delegation of external assessors including Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Hữu Đức – Head of evaluation team; Dr. Nguyễn Thị Thu Hương – Secretary of the evaluation team, the members of the evaluation team including Dr. Đinh Văn Toàn, Dr. Trần Hữu Lượng, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Phạm Văn Tuấn, Dr. Nguyễn Hoàng Oanh, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Đào Ngọc Tiến, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bùi Duy Cam, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyễn Tiến Dũng, M.A. Nguyễn Hòa Huy – Supervisor of the evaluation team and members of the evaluation team attended online.

Representatives of Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City are Dr. Phan Hồng Hải – Party Secretary, the Rector, Prof. Dr. Lê Văn Tán – Vice Rector, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Đàm Sao Mai – Vice Rector and representatives of the unit leaders and lecturers of the training programs being evaluated.

On behalf of IUH team, Dr. Phan Hồng Hải expressed his confidence that the external assessment team with experts in the field of quality accreditation will have fair, objective and accurate assessments of the state of training activities of IUH. Dr. Phan Hồng Hải emphasized the importance of carrying out quality assessment of training programs. Currently, IUH has 12 training programs successfully evaluated by AUN-QA, along with 6 training programs being accredited by ABET.  The training program evaluation criteria complying to circular No. 04/2016/TT-BGDDT of the Ministry of Education and Training which is implemented by the Center for Education Quality Accreditation - Hanoi National University (VNU) in accordance with Vietnamese education practices is an important basis for universities to improve the training quality.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Tạ Thị Thu Hiền thanked the leaders of Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City for trusting and selecting the Center for Education Accreditation – Hanoi National University as the unit to carry out external assessments for 08 training programs of the University this time. She also expressed her expectations that Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City will lead and spread the culture of quality assurance to universities across the country with the achievements of accreditation and quality assurance that the university has achieved in recent years. Participating in this accreditation, IUH will be the unit with the highest number of master training programs in the country being accredited.

At the opening session, Mr. Nguyễn Hòa Huy - Center for Education Accreditation - Ha Noi National University announced the decision to establish an external assessment team, stating the purpose of the official survey and agreeing on the working principles and the time of performing the tasks of the Delegation.

The official survey will take place over seven days from January 9-15, 2022. After the opening ceremony, the delegation of external assessors will study the evidence and work with the School Leaders, officials in charge as well as conduct practical observations of classrooms, practice rooms, laboratories, libraries, facilities and interview stakeholders for objective and accurate assessment on the accredited training program.
