In the afternoon of May 7, 2024, Industrial University of Ho Chi minh City (IUH) solemnly organized the Closing Ceremony of the University's Officers-Employees sport competition to congratulate and award prizes to collectives and athletes with excellent achievements. This is an activity in a series of events to celebrate the 49th anniversary of the Liberation Day of the South and the reunification of the country (30/4/1975 - 30/4/2024) and International Labor Day 1/5; the 134th anniversary of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh (19/5/1890 - 19/5/2024); commemorating the 73rd anniversary of the traditional day of Vietnam Industry and Trade (14/5/1951 - 14/5/2024), continue to promote the campaign "The whole people do physical exercises following the example of the great Uncle Ho".
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Phan Hong Hai – Secretary of the Party Committee, IUH Rector; Comrade Le Ngoc Son – Chairman of the School Union; Comrade Vo Thi Thu Thuy – Vice President of the School Union; and leaders of units, the Standing Committee of the Union, the athletes, and the sport teams.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the Organizing Committee, Comrade Le Ngoc Son – Chairman of the University's Union summarized the results of the 2024 sport competition. The university-wide event took place from March 26, 2024 to May 5, 2024, with more than 1,200 faculty, staff and student athletes participating, comprising 52 delegations competing in 9 sport categories: Football, Volleyball, Badminton, Chess, Chinese Chess, Table Tennis, AK Shooting, Bowling and Tug-of-War. Embodying the spirit of noble sportsmanship, solidarity, and honesty, the athletes crafted an engaging sports competition, delivering numerous thrilling and satisfying matches for the audience.
Comrade Son also emphasized: "Physical training activities not only help officials – employees maintain health, but also serve as an exchange playground to strengthen solidarity and cohesion in the collective of officials – employees of the whole school. This year, the content that attracts a large number of enthusiastic athletes and fans to participate is Tug of War. The organizers will recognize and promote in the next year's sports season."

Summing up the program, the Organizing Committee awarded 75 individual and collective prizes in all competition categories, of which the collective prizes belonged to the following units:
- The First Prize – Faculty of Business Administration
- The Second Prize – Physical Education and National Defence Center
- The Third Prize - Service Department, Faculty of Electrical Technology, Political Works and Students Support

The 2024 University's Officers-Employees sport competition has officially ended successfully with many positive effects spread, strengthening close ties among union members and workers. The event has launched a vibrant competition movement in learning, training and participating in the movement of officials, employees and students at the university wide level, continuing and maintaining the spirit "Sport is not about beating others, it is what you do to surpass yourself".
