On 27/08/2022, the Faculty of Chemical Engineering held a seminar on current trends of training and development of the pharmaceutical industry aiming to share experiences on issues related to the trend of training in the pharmaceutical industry at home and abroad, finding solutions for chemical development in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and functional foods in Vietnam.
The seminar attendees are researchers and scientists from prestigious pharmaceutical training units across the country: Dr. Nguyễn Thị Đông – Department of Science, Technology and Training - Ministry of Health, Prof. Dr. Trần Công Luận - Rector of Tây Đô University (Cần Thơ), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trần Văn Thành, Faculty of Pharmacy, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Lê Văn Tán – Vice Rector of IUH, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Văn Cường – Head of IUH Faculty of Chemical Technology.
Overview of the Seminar on Training trends and development of the Pharmaceutical industry
In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Lê Văn Tán emphasized: "It is very important to orient and grasp the trend of training and developing the pharmaceutical industry. The right orientation will help schools build training programs in accordance with the labor market needs suitable for society in the coming time. Thereby, Pharmacy students of the schools will have an advantage in accessing jobs when they graduate and develop their future careers."

The seminar was organized to improve the capacity of training, academic exchange and promotion of pharmacology, find suitable solutions to provide high-quality human resources for the pharmaceutical industry in the era of digitalization and AI, thereby capturing the trend of training pharmacists at home and abroad, the trend of southern pharmaceutical training and finding solutions for chemical development in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and food in Vietnam.
IUH starts Pharmacy industry and enrolls students from the academic year 2022 – 2023. IUH is one of the universities with strengths in the field of Chemistry – Biology – Food. In 2021 Scimago ranking, the university's Chemistry major ranked 5th, while the biology major ranked 7th in the country. Currently, IUH has a Professor of Analytical Chemistry and a Professor specializing in research in Natural Compounds, along with a team of qualified personnel from PhDs accounting for more than 40% in the field of Chemistry - Biology - Food. The system of modern laboratories and laboratories is invested and upgraded by the University year by year to facilitate the development of training and research in Pharmacology.
